Antónia, the owner, and her team are all very hospitable and ensure that service is friendly and professional. A Vela Restaurant opened its doors on the 31st may 2004, completing in total, 14 years of existence. With these, Antónia, counts 31 years of her professional career in the hospitality industry. All of them full of rich experiences implemented in her restaurant and that are transmitted to her clients as well as her team. Switzerland, her elected country during 17 years where she assimilated all the basics of hospitality and this passion.
Born in Beja-Alentejo, centre region of Portugal, Antonia brings the well known and warm hospitality from her region in to her restaurant. Some of the dishes, one of them our cheese and chorizo platter to share, you can ‘taste’ this region. The wine is also a big production of her hometown that can be sipped in A Vela too. Therefore you do not only have the Algarve Coast to taste you will also have Alentejo in the restaurants heart.

The host tries in every season that goes on to innovate yet maintaining the typical of the venue and menu.
